Shofar Factory

Recomended age:

The Shofar Factory can be altered to suit any age range, from kindergarten to senior citizens.

Duration:

45 min - 1 hour

Cost:

£150 for half a day (up to 3 groups), £250 for a full day. Plus cost of shofars if you would like participants to make their own shofar to take away (optional).

About the workshop:

Features a demonstration by a craftsman of the process of transforming a raw ram’s horn through skilled shaping and polishing into an authentic kosher Shofar. Participants are invited to help in completing an actual horn and each group keeps the Shofar fashioned there as a memento of the craftsman’s visit. The participants then learn to sound the Shofar and practice blowing different kinds of shofrot.

There is an option for students to make their own Shofar, to take home with them. There is an additional cost for this.
